I probably shouldn't have written it but oh well. A Terrible Thought By: Dreiser The more she stared at the Slayer the angrier she became. How dare she turn them down? Didn't she know they were the closest thing to perfection on this sad excuse for a world? Hell, they WERE perfection! Okay, she was perfection. Ben on the other hand... ugh. Ben wanted to date the Slayer of all people and got shot down. Sometimes she wondered about her little brother. He really was such an infantile creature. Still... "She is lovely," Glory murmured, tilting her head to one side and studying the Slayer carefully. Through the convenience of a spell one of her minions cast she watched the girl go through her daily routine. Her eyes narrowing, she then added, "Lovely in an inferior mortal who dared to turn us down sort of way, of course." "Your sparkly shiny smell sweetness?" Lifting her gaze, Glory studied her minion. She didn't know any of their names but she vaguely recalled the numbers she gave them. If she was correct, this one was number seven. His brethren, five and six were no longer with them due to constant failures. "Yes?" Glory asked with clear annoyance. "I'm sorry my infinite sex appeal Mistress but it's about our search for the Key," Minion Seven looked very nervous. "The Key?" echoed Glory quickly, her eyes lighting up with anticipation. "You've found it then?" Minion Seven now looked very, very, nervous. "You haven't found it," Glory snarled, guessing his answer already. "The Slayer somehow stopped you." She blinked at this, then raged, "No! I've been watching her all day and she hasn't done anything but boring things!" "You've been watching her?" asked Minion Seven. "Never mind that!" shouted Glory. Rising to her feet with a dangerous elegance, she crossed the room and gave him her most feral smile. One that made him wet the robe he was wearing. Frowning at this reaction, Glory pinched her nose and said with exasperation, "Now you're so pathetic even I can't kill you! Just get out." Backing out of the room, Minion Seven heaved a sigh and felt thankful that he had put off telling Glory what they'd found about her brother. He certainly didn't want to be the one to tell her Master Ben was infatuated with the Slayer and helping her hide the Key from them. Seconds later, he heard a loud frustrated scream and the sound of objects breaking. Then again, he mused, maybe she already knew about it herself. "HIM?! His name you whisper?! He's a mortal, a brainless mortal who left you! Whisper our name!" Taking in a deep and shuddering breath, Glory regained her control just in time to see Buffy put down the picture of a soldier boy with a dim smile on his features. "Oh, that's it," Glory said decisively, placing her hands on her hips. "I've decided. If I can't get the Key by killing her friends and generally scaring the crap out of her, then I'll get the Key by seducing the stupid Slayer. Then at least she'd have to recognize our clear superiority!" Flipping her hair over her shoulder, Glory stomped into her large walk in closet and started going through her dresses. Something suddenly occurred to her, so pausing in her search, she called out, "Lumpy Minion!" In an instant, Minion Seven was back at her side. "Yes, your milky white smoothness?" Minion Seven asked with his best attempt at a charming smile. "Get the car," Glory instructed sharply. "We're going shopping. For me and my insipid brother. I'll make us look so good that the Slayer will have no choice but to fall madly in love with the both of us." With that, Glory flounced into the living room possessing the always natural grace of a God. Leaving one very confused lumpy minion behind. Hoping that this was just another strange whim on the part of his Mistress. Because if there was anything that he didn't want to help with, it was seducing the Slayer. After all, it was such a terrible thought. -End-
