But once upon a time she wasn't human. Once she was a bad ass wish granting vengeance demon who loved to wreak havoc and make life miserable for men. Of course, before she was a demon, she was human but that was such a long time ago that for Anya, her life back then was like a dream. The details coming to her in a strange fog of recollection, always seeming obscured. She had a feeling, deep down, the reason she couldn't recall the details of old was because her original life as a human sucked and sucked big time. Maybe that's why she was so desperate to get her powers back when they had initially been taken away. Anya knew, deep inside, that when she had been a human before, life as she knew it was pretty horrible. While life as a demon was pretty damn fun. Plus she had nifty powers and a basically nice boss who was very lenient about her assignments and then there were the travel benefits... well. All and all, the life of a busy vengeance demon was definitely for Anya. While life as a human didn't have appeal at all. Life as a human meant getting old and dying, it meant being unappreciated and ignored, and it meant that she couldn't torture people freely or if she wanted to, she'd have to think of more creative ways to do it. However, there was one thing Anya liked as a human. One thing that was better as a human than as a demon. One thing that in her previous life as one, she never got around to experiencing. And that one thing was sex. Hot, passionate, monkey sex. It was way better as a human than as a demon. Anya knew that as soon as she did the deed with Xander. He wasn't the best lover she ever had, fairly nervous and fumbly, but still... the sensations, the sounds, the slippery feel of skin on skin, they were things she never really got to have as a demon. That might explain why Anya got somewhat obsessed with the act itself and somewhat obsessed with Xander, the person she'd first experienced it with. Then came the emotions that went along with the hot, passionate, monkey sex. Those she could do without, but she still had them, much to her irritation. And it was those emotions that kept Anya from sleeping with people other than Xander. As much as she was tempted. Something inside her made her remain loyal to him. Every time she considered having sex with someone else, she'd have this flash of Xander looking at her with puppy dog eyes and quivering lips as he said, "Why, Anya? Why did you cheat on me?" It was a strange sight that Anya never wanted to see again, even in her weird guilt caused visions. It was also a sight that made Anya extremely possessive of Xander. Because if she couldn't sleep with other people thanks to guilt, then neither should he. This was all thanks to those annoying emotions that she had developed for him. Emotions were another thing Anya didn't like all that much. They just bogged a person down, weighted you like cement on a dead body dumped in a river by the Mafia. Okay, that was a grim comparison but you get the picture. Anya really didn't like how emotions were running her life these days. As a demon, she let her wits run her, her wits and her incredible sense of impulse. Because as a demon, she could do whatever she wanted and still not feel guilty about the consequences. After all, wreaking havoc was what she was supposed to do. It was her specialty in life and she loved it. Problem was, as a human she had no specialty. What she did have was tons of guilt whenever she'd even consider doing something she'd do in a second as a demon. So what was her specialty anyway? Anya thought about this, long and hard, for at least five seconds before she decided what it was, hands down. Sex was her specialty as a human. Hot, passionate, monkey sex was her specialty. The kind of sex that makes the 'normal' people horrified but still intrigued at the very idea that it's going on out there. That was the kind of sex that Anya had. Sometimes she liked to do the whole mushy making love scene but mostly, mostly, she wanted to have her some good hot, passionate, monkey sex. The reason that Anya liked sex was because of how good it made her feel and how good she knew she could make Xander feel while having it. She loved that she had more control, more power, just more everything when she was having sex with him. It was her moment to shine, it truly was, because as much as she did love Xander, the boy just wasn't very creative in bed. But Anya... oh, she was another story entirely. In fact, some people might say she had a little too much creativity in bed. Xander certainly would since he was the constant focus of her creativity. He didn't even want to think about the things that she suggested they to do after his twin showed up. Or why certain suggestions somehow appealed to him. Even as their relationship developed, causing Anya's emotions for Xander to run deeper, as did his for her, with them somehow falling completely in love, their romantic life still remained the same as it always was. Focused mainly on hot, passionate, monkey sex. Then, somewhere along the line, it got boring. Maybe Anya ran out of ideas... or they had just gotten into a rut after living together for six months, but it was boring. Sex was boring to Anya and that fact was completely and utterly unacceptable. Sex should always be fun, should always make her tingle, should always be their most favorite thing to do together. But lately, that just wasn't true. Frustrated over this fact, Anya wondered if maybe this meant that she and Xander weren't in love with each other anymore. If this meant that they should break up. Confused and lost over the sudden turn in her sex life with Xander, she went to the one person she knew that had just broken up with their boyfriend. Even though when you did a compare and contrast on boyfriends, you couldn't really get much different than Xander and Riley. To say that Buffy was shocked by the initial start to her conversation with Anya was an understatement to say the least. To say that her brain froze and she had what was close to a meltdown might work better. But once she got over the fact that she was talking to Anya about sex with Xander and the sex being less than mind blowing, Buffy gave some good advice. She also got to see a different side to the former vengeance demon, just as Anya saw another side to Buffy other than the Slayer. And what they got to see were just two somewhat normal girls who experienced many of the same worries. It was a surprise to them both, but a very pleasant one. Perhaps that's why they continued to talk with each other as time went on. Eventually separating from the rest of the Scoobies to talk by themselves. When they were away from the others, Anya noticed that when Buffy gave her the slightest of touches it caused the exact feeling that Xander used to give her. It was a feeling that made her feel guilty but she liked it all the same. She liked it when Buffy touched her, even if to just hold hands. She wondered if Buffy felt the same way about her. The wondering continued, especially when Anya went from having boring sex with Xander to having hot, passionate, monkey sex with him again. And this was all because now she was picturing Buffy being with them when they had sex. More and more, the idea plagued Anya. She still loved Xander, she was still in love with Xander, she still wanted to have sex with him, she even wanted to make mushy love with him too. But now she wanted to have all of that with Buffy as well and to top it off, she wanted Xander to be along for the ride. Not just for the ride, for the relationship. Anya wanted Xander and Buffy and she wanted them all to herself. She wanted whatever the French people called a threesome, but with love thrown into the mix. Because Anya loved Buffy as much as she loved Xander, and she loved them both with all of her heart. But what about them? What did they want? She knew that Xander still loved her too. She also knew that he had always had a thing for Buffy and had been pretty much forced into loving her platonically since Buffy would never let their relationship turn romantic. But Xander had a jealous side. Would he really agree to share? Even if it was sharing with two attractive girls? And what about Buffy? That was more complicated. Sometimes when they were alone, holding hands, and doing the girl talk thing with a few ex-demon and Slayer details mixed in, Anya would swear that she'd catch Buffy looking at her with eyes lidded with desire and maybe, just maybe, a hint of longing. But how would she feel about Xander? Could she love him too? Soon these questions took control of Anya's entire life. Just like her original obsession with sex when she'd first had it, Anya was now obsessed with the idea of being in a romantic relationship with Xander and Buffy. Which was, all in all, pretty damn obsessed if she did say so herself. Being the two closest people to her now, Xander and Buffy couldn't help but notice something was wrong with her. Which led to them both to decide they needed to confront Anya about whatever was bothering her. And confront her together. This was too much for Anya to take. Seeing the two people she loved worried about her, looking all cutesy in the process. Then, to make it worse, they both sat down on either side of her on the sofa and reached out to hold her hands. They were both just so nice, sweet, and very, very, sexy. It was enough to make her burst into tears. Confused and worried about this reaction, Xander and Buffy tried to comfort Anya while still asking what was bothering her. Asking what was the secret that they knew she was keeping from them both. That's when Anya finally shouted it out, feeling desperate despite the loving embrace Xander and Buffy had her in. Shouted how she loved them both, how she wanted them both, how she needed them both, physically and emotionally. Buffy and Xander were shocked. There just isn't any other word for it. They were beyond brain meltdown shocked, they were frozen in time shocked. It was the reaction that Anya had pretty much expected to get from them. Not wanting to wait around for their stage two reaction, which she figured would be disgust and rejection, Anya stood up and said quietly it was time for her to leave. Then it happened. Buffy grabbed her hand, stopping her from leaving, then shifted her hold to clasp Anya's shoulders, turning the other girl around so they would be facing. Eyes met eyes and it was Anya's turn to be shocked as she saw the love she wanted, but never expected, in Buffy's gaze. Time seemed to freeze again as Buffy leaned forward to capture Anya's lips with her own and soon, time lost all meaning as she surrendered herself to Buffy. The Slayer's soft ravishing kisses equaled Xander's firm hungry ones in both power and desire and Anya was overwhelmed from the experience. Pulling away, she couldn't help but gasp from lack of breath. Slowly, almost against her will, Anya turned and faced Xander, waiting for his reaction. Just like earlier, he was frozen. Frozen with a dazed look in his eyes. But slowly he snapped out of it and looked at Anya then Buffy, who were both standing in front of him, waiting expectantly for whatever reaction that was about to come. The only reaction that they got was a slow and very sneaky smile spreading across Xander's features. Then, moving with more confidence than either of the girls gave him credit for, Xander pulled them towards him and leaned forward to whisper in their ears. What he whispered, is a secret, for their ears only. But what he whispered started something that night which became the most common gossip in Sunnydale. Mainly the gossip about Xander and Buffy both having hot, passionate, monkey sex together and with their girlfriend, Anya. The girl most commonly known around town as the superfreak. -End-
