I've always been right here, waiting.

Waiting for you to see me. Waiting for you to need me. 
Waiting for you to come to me.

But it's never happened. Not once, in all of the years that 
we've known each other.

Again and again I would come to you with information for 
your missions. Then I would fade into the background with a happy 
smile and an easy demeanor.

I watched you chase him. Did you know that? I would just 
sit there and watch you...

Watch you and him and wish to be him.

Things are so confused now. I'm not sure who I should be 
loyal to anymore. I've always served her. She is the one constant in 
my life and I can't abandon that.

But I can't abandon you either.

She won't allow harm to come to you. As long as I know 
this then I have no need to worry.

But still... I can't help but worry for your safety. We send 
you into such perilous situations and at times I'm not sure that you 
even realize the depths of the danger.

I wish I could warn you but I cannot. It would be breaking 
my vow of loyalty to her. Only she may say when all will be 
revealed to you and your comrades.

And when that day comes perhaps I will be able to reveal 
my feelings for you as well.

How will you take it, I wonder?

Shock will be your first emotion most likely. I'm quite 
certain you have no idea of my feelings. If you did then you 
wouldn't be so dismissive of my presence.

At least, I hope you wouldn't be so dismissive.

No, I know you better than that. Your heart is a kind one. 
That's part of why I fell in love with you.

It was your kindness, your strength, and your beauty on the 
inside and out that drew me to you. And your life... your incredible 
life. You've done things that I could never do. Seen things I could 
never see.

All my life I've been sheltered. Hidden away in my own 
private world of fantasy and power. Only allowed to escape into 
reality when given permission.

Sometimes I think that the only thing keeping my life from 
being hell is you and my love for you.

That's why I'm right here. Right here waiting for you to 
notice me. Waiting for you to finally see me. Waiting for you to 
love me like I love you.

But in the meantime, I'll have to go on with my life as I've 
always done and do my job as mundane as it seems.

So with a false smile and a bounce, I appear before you, 
wishing that I could look into your burning scarlet eyes that I know 
are hidden underneath those dark sunglasses.

Smile still plastered on my face, I say what I've always 
said, "Hello everyone! It's me, Dota!"

The character of Dota is from Sorcerer Hunters. Heh. Okay, yeah. 
I'm in a very weird mood and I have no idea at all where this fic 
idea came from. Blame it on an absurd brain hiccup and me 
obsessing too much on Dota. Hey, I can't help it. She just 
fascinates me for some reason and I think she and Tira would 
make a kawaii couple.
